DARWIN EN IN TIERRA DEL FUEGO SEMI AQUATISCHE MENSEN
Overzicht van de verzamelde bronnen voor de invloed op Charles Darwin en de verdere geschiedenis van de Alacaluf.
Gegevens wijzen er op dat de term "Alacaluf" door de oorspronkelijke bewoners in Tierra del Fuego en Zuidelijk Patagonie als "wij mensen" werd gebruikt.
Er waren destijds acht aparte groepen die voor een beperkt deel in hun leefwijze verschilden.
Ze droegen geen of weinig kleding en waren watergebonden. Zij waren aangepast aan het koude gebied en zijn om die reden dikwijls te vinden in onderzoeksrapporten aan die eigenschap.
Om die reden hebben ze mijn belangstelling in verband met de Kustmenstheorie, de opvolging van de Aquatic Ape Theorie over het begin van de premenselijke ontwikkeling.
Bovendien levert mtDNA en DNA onderzoek aan hun resten uit, dat zij meer overeenkomen met de vermoedelijk eerste mensen in Amerika doordat ze afwijken met de Noordelijker groepen.
Sommige bediscussieerde meningen spreken van mogelijke connecties met oudere pre-aziatische groepen die zelfs kenmerken bezaten van typen in Australie.
In het gebied zijn bovendien in een grot min of meer neolithische schilderingen ontdekt.
In de verzameling bronnen heb ik daar voorbeelden van opgenomen.
Het artikel in de wetenschapsbijlage Darwin van de NRC over deze mensen mist een aantal belangrijke wetenschappelijke en historische feiten.

Bijgevoegde bronnen vullen dat aan.
Ondermeer uit het archief van de correspondentie van Charles Darwin blijkt, dat hij tot op hoge leeftijd contact hield met de groep die in Tierra del Fuego met zending en ontwikkeling stand proberen te houden.
Er zijn financiële bijdragen van genoemd. Ontwikkeling betekende voor hem daarbij meer dan de kerstening.
In de laatste berichten die hem zijn gestuurd is met weerzin het vertonen van een Alacalufgroepje aan de burgers in de Londense dierentuin gemeld.
In die periode is hetzelfde gebeurd in een kooi van de dierentuin in Hamburg waar men ze als een soort apen beschreef die alleen maar rare geluiden lieten horen.

Resources of influences on Charles Darwin of Jemmy Button and the fate of the Alacaluf and other Fuegans.Stories go that "Alacaluf" was used by autochthonous Fuegans meaning "we humans".
Probably it is not correct, there were originally eight different groups with their own special technologies and habits. They did wear no or very scarce cloths and were bounded to coastal areas, transporting in canoes.
They were very adapted to severe cold in the area and the physiological pronounced properties are mentioned in different scientific reports.
All that interested me; the way of life, semi aquatic and adapted to the severe climate of Tierra del Fuego and Patagonia, when did they arrive and how...
It could mean a good example of humans fitting in my "shoreline man" theory. That view is the follow up of the "Aquatic Ape Theory", proposing a semi aquatic past of our early ancestors. What is more, research in mtDNA and DNA from remnants of deceased Tierra del Fuego people available from graveyards reveal more connection with the very first people entering the Americas. It means a difference with the indigenous populations more to the North.
There is a discussion about a possible link with older pre-asiatic groups that even have some markers of Australian groups.
Deeper research is impossible, because almost all indigenous Fuegans became extinct. That the languages deceased with them is a big loss also.
In the area are discovered Neolithic paintings. some remembered cultural expressions that also link them to very old ancestral people. Dances are still represented to remember their existence and to attract tourists.
Some of the added resources lead to examples.
In the archive of Charles Darwin's correspondence is proof of the fact that he did keep contact with a missionary society active in Tierra del Fuego trying to save the indigenous people with education and development. Financial gifts are mentioned and reports about the effect. He kept in contact to ultimate old age and it was more to him than only christening the Fuegans.In the latest news send to him were repulsive reports about a group of Fuegan people kept in the London zoo to amuse the British citizens.
In the same period this happened to a family of indigenous Fuegans in the zoo of Hamburg showed to the people as a kind of apes, only the young one capable of making strange noises.....
